Woodland, Maine - Wendell I. Doody, 88, died August 2, 2026, in Van Buren with his brother by his side. He was born at home in Caribou, January 25, 1938, the son of Ivory and Lela (Langley) Doody.
Wendell was raised on the family farm in Woodland and attended Woodland schools. Wendell was an avid collector of antiques and of marbles.
Wendell is survived by his brother, Franklin Doody and partner, Yvonne Thibeault, of Van Buren; a sister-in-law, Marie Corbin; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; siblings, Malen Doody and wife, Jane, Ronald Doody and wife, Viola "Frenchie," Dana Doody and wife, Ina, Linda McCrossin and husband, Paul, Mike Doody and wife, Connie, and Eveard Doody; and sister-in-law, Gloria Hewitt Doody.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026, at 1 p.m. at Woodland Cemetery with the Rev. Roger Jewell officiating. Arrangements by Mockler Funeral Home, Caribou. mocklerfuneralhome.com.
