Thelma Marion Knowlton


Woodland & Caribou - Thelma Marion Knowlton, 90, died at The Aroostook Medical Center in Presque Isle on March 9, 2019. Thelma was born in Woodland on February 16, 1929, to Austin & Nettie (True) Knowlton. She graduated from Caribou High School in June of 1951. She worked at JJ Newberry and Woolworth's until her retirement. She was devoted to her many horses with whom she won hundreds of blue ribbons at local horse shows and the Northern Maine Fair, where she was the Grand Marshal at the horse races for many years.
She is survived by one sister, Janet Rossignol of Caribou, a special nephew, Michael Lunney of Caribou, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by a special niece, Rose Redder of Wyoming.
She was predeceased by three brothers, Edward, Arnold and Emery, and three sisters, Dorothy Kinney, Alain Kennedy and Irene Lunney.
There will be no visiting hours. Thelma will be buried later in the family plot.
