Ashland, Maine - Scott Boyles, 64, of Ashland, Maine, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026, after a brief battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family at Northern Light AR Gould in Presque Isle. He was born on April 11, 1961, in Presque Isle, the son of Howard and Annice (Boyce) Boyles.

Scott was a resident of Mapleton, Maine, before moving to Ashland, Maine, and was deeply devoted to his family and community. He took great pride in his role as a father and grandfather, and his family was always at the center of his life. A hardworking and dedicated man, Scott was employed at the local Levesque/Daquam/Irving mill for more than 40 years, where he formed many lasting friendships that he truly cherished. Outside of work, Scott loved to hunt and enjoyed spending time outdoors.

Scott is survived by his mother, Annice Boyles of Ashland; sons, Eric Boyles and his wife, Danielle, of Ashland, and Josh Lewin of Ashland; his sister, Carla Carney and her partner, Dennis, of Mapleton; and his brother, Edward Boyles and his wife, Donna, of Milford. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Landon and Lainey Boyles of Ashland, who brought him immense joy. Scott had many other family and friends we would list, however, we would run out of space. Just know he loved each of you. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Gail (Lewin) Boyles; his father, Howard Boyles; his mother-in-law, Gloria Lewin; his father-in-law, Richard Lewin; and his sister-in-law, Avis.

Per Scott's request, a graveside service will be held in the spring, where he and Gail will be laid to rest together. Following the service, a reception will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a college fund established for his grandchildren, Landon and Lainey Boyles mailed to Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 509, Ashland, ME 04732.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the many friends who helped care for Scott over the past three months, and to those who called or stopped by to visit. Your kindness and support lifted his spirits and meant more than words can express. We appreciate each and every one of you who are too numerous to list. Scott will be remembered for his strength and the love he shared with those closest to him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
