Houlton - Ruth G. Levesque, 90, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at a Houlton hospital. She was born June 29, 1929, in Centreville, New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of Earl and Dorothy (Taylor) Bulmer.
Ruth grew up in East Newbridge, New Brunswick, Canada, and graduated from high school in Houlton. On April 17, 1971 she married Yvon Levesque and they would enjoy forty eight years of marriage. She worked as a teachers aid in Hodgdon for M.S.A.D. 70 for many years. Ruth enjoyed making quilts, was a past skier, playing cards, and walking. She also enjoyed traveling and visited the British Isles, France, and British Columbia, Canada. Most of all she enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren. Ruth was a past member of the Rebekah Lodge of Houlton, as well as a member of the Military Street Baptist Church of Houlton.
She is survived by her husband Yvon Levesque of Houlton; three children, Richard Chambers and his wife Rosa of Orono, Linda Charbonneau and her husband Arthur of Newton, NH, Peter Chambers and his wife Claudette of Kingston, NH; two stepsons, Rudy Levesque and his wife Anita of Linneus, Ronald Levesque and Michael of Portsmouth, NH; two stepdaughters, Judi Faulkner of Burke, VA, Juliette Cottle and her husband Charles of Winterport; seven grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Ruth also leaves behind three sisters, Marilyn Tapley and her husband Ernest of British Columbia, Canada, Carolyn Maine of Connecticut, Brenda Marquis of Searsport; a brother Brian Bulmer of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada; an ex-daughter-in-law Linda Chambers; a special cousin Barbara Shaw and her husband Calvin of Williamstown, New Brunswick, Canada; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters and one brother.
Friends may call 12 p.m. Saturday, July 20, 2019, at Military Street Baptist Church, where a service will be conducted at 1p.m. with the Rev. Travis Glatter officiating. A private committal service will take place immediately following the service at St. Mary's Cemetery on Smyrna Street. The family invites relatives and friends to a reception at the church fellowship hall.
