Rowena C. Conley

Bangor - Rowena C. Conley, 83, daughter of Herbert "Edgar" and Ironia "Vergie" Crouse, passed away on May 15, 2019.
Rowena loved the Lord and was a true example of what it means to be a faithful servant. Along with her great love for the Lord was the great love she had for her family which she was so proud of. Hospitality was so important to her and she knew no stranger. If you were invited into her home, you became family and shared home cooked meals around the table that had been created out of great love. She will truly be missed by all who knew her. We will miss her quick wit and funny one-liners, her encouragement and wisdom.
Rowena attended New England School of Theology in Massachusetts, and two years of cosmetology school in Maine, returning to Crouseville and marrying her husband of 61 years, Gerald Conley. Over the years, Rowena held many positions at the church and loved to play the piano for church services, concerts, and at home for her family. She sought out those that were new to the church or community and would greet them and make them feel welcome.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald; son, Brent and wife Margo; daughter, Colleen; son, Dwayne and wife Vicky; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, June 22nd at the Dunntown Advent Christian Church in Wade, Maine. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the:

Rowena will always be remembered as a beloved sister in Christ. Her love for Christ and others defined her as a person. We loved her and look forward to seeing her again.

The last time we visited at Leisure Village our conversation turned to the things of God. Her face lit up like a sunbeam. God's words were forever imprinted in her memory.
