Westfield - Roberta M. (Boyd) Taylor, 85, passed away Monday, October 28, 2019 with her family by her side. She was born in Mars Hill on September 13, 1934, the daughter of Spurgeon and Jessie (Sparks) Boyd.
She married the love of her life, James Taylor, and together they had 3 children, Leslie, Lynn and Karen. Bert spent many years with Jim raising their children on the family farm. For over 30 years, she was known as "Bert the Bus Driver" to many children in MSAD #1. Her kindness and love touched the lives of countless children who had the pleasure of riding her bus.
Bert's world revolved around her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the light of her life. In her retirement, Bert enjoyed traveling and going to music with special friends, Paul and Joan.
She is survived by her husband, Jim; her son Leslie (Jane) of Portland; Karen (David McDonald) of Presque Isle; her daughter-in-law Donna Taylor of Westfield; her grandchildren John (Amy) Billings of Presque Isle, Destini (Marty) Bates of Presque Isle, James (Trisha) Taylor of Presque Isle, Joshua (Bethany) Taylor of McLean, Virgina, Shannon (Tyler) Ring of Pittsfield, and Ashley (Mark) Baker of Gorham; and her 14 great-grandchildren; she is also survived by her sisters, Orla Carney of Ashland, Rosella Large of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, and Uva Hardgrove of Westfield.
Bert was predeceased by her parents; her son, Lynn Taylor; her sisters, Bea Cousins and Amy Peers; and brother John Boyd.
Bert was a life-long member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 31st, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Marshall cemetery on Route 1 in Westfield.
