New Limerick, Maine - Robert W. Russell, 86, passed away Monday, February 10, 2020, at a Bangor Hospital. He was born June 10, 1933, in Kingsbury, the son of Romer and Olivette (Gourley) Russell.

Bob received his elementary education in the Medford and Milo schools. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Following his discharge, he furthered his education and graduated from the Vaughn Barber School in Hartford, CT. He was a professional barber and had his own business in the Houlton area for many years.

Bob was on the board of selectmen for the town of New Limerick for several years. He also was a long-time member of the New Limerick Baptist Church and served the church on several boards and committees.

He is survived by his wife Marion M. Russell of New Limerick, three brothers: L. Douglas of Medford, Wendell of Brownville, Dwight of Milo and their families. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son David Ivan Russell.

Friends called at 12 PM, Friday, February 14, 2020, at Dunn Funeral Home, where a funeral service was conducted at 1 PM with Pastor David Tuttle officiating. A private committal with military honors will take place at New Limerick Cemetery in the spring.
