Limestone, Maine - Richard Lee Merchant, 45, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2026. He was born April 18, 1980, in Farmington, to his loving parents, Rick C. Michaud and Kathryn Ann (Merchant) Lyons.

Richard grew up in Limestone and Caribou, attending local schools. He worked for many years doing seasonal jobs for people. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed the outdoors and especially liked to fish. Richard also enjoyed drawing and was a talented woodworker.

He is survived by his mother, Kathryn "Kathy" Lyons; father, Rick Michaud; his maternal grandfather, Leon Merchant; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Richard was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Nancy (Peters) Merchant; paternal grandfather, Reginald Michaud; and paternal grandmother, Norrine (Umphrey) Dow.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
