Nadine E. Bradley

Events

Haverhill - Surrounded by her loving family, Nadine E. (McLaughlin) Bradley passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, March 22, 2019, after a short period of declining health.
Nadine was born on October 18, 1925 on the family farm in Dyer Brook, Maine. She was the youngest of six children of the late Carl and May (Gerrish) McLaughlin. Nadine attended schools in Island Falls, Maine until the family moved to Danvers, MA to look for employment. She then continued her education at Danvers High School and graduated in 1943.
As a young woman, Nadine worked as a teller in the banking industry, and later she worked in a shoe shop in Rowley. After many years as a homemaker raising her family, Nadine then worked at the Yum Yum Shoppe in Westgate Plaza until her retirement.
Nadine married James E. Bradley in 1961, and they were married 56 1/2 years until his passing last April. They lived in Haverhill where they would raise their family and take part in a variety of social and civic activities.
Nadine, along with her beloved Jim, worshiped at the former First Congregational Church in Haverhill. Nadine served as a Deaconess in the church and was a longtime member of the Thoughtful Circle and the Women's Guild at the church, where she served in a variety of leadership roles. There she was well-known for her baked goods for the church fair and special entrees at church dinners. More recently, she was a member of Groveland Congregational Church. Nadine was a woman of strong faith and she lived a good Christian life.
Nadine was also proud of her many years of service with the Haverhill Female Benevolent Society, where she offered her time in numerous leadership roles, including serving as treasurer over 25 years.
For many years Nadine was a homemaker taking care of her children and other family members. She was always willing to lend a helping hand wherever needed. Nadine's family always came first and there was a batch of "Grammie cookies" on hand whenever anyone visited. We will all
hold her example of love, compassion, and kindness in our hearts forever.
Nadine will be lovingly missed by her daughters, Cynthia Senical and husband Dave of VT, Denise Wolf and husband Richard of Worcester, Suzanne Torrisi and husband John of Haverhill and her son, David Bradley and wife Anne of Lawrence. She will be missed terribly by her grandchildren, Kevin Senicla, Stephanie Gaudette and husband T.C., Kristin Quiet and husband Justin, Jonathan Wolf, Kayla Torrisi, Patrick Bradley and fiancee Kelly Fawcett, and Elizabeth Bradley. Nadine's legacy will be lovingly remembered by her great-grandchildren, Ian, Grace, Kaelie, Vivienne, Sophie and Maeve, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and other extended members of her family. In addition to her loving husband James, she was also predeceased by her siblings, Lillian Higgins, Goldie McLaughlin, Beryl Stevens, Aubrey McLaughlin, and Margaret Dunn, her great-granddaughter, Sabine Lillian Gaudette and her step-daughter, Linda Bradley Genna.
Visiting hours will be Monday, March 25, 2019 from 4 to 7 P.M. at the Monument Square Chapel of Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 334 Main Street, Haverhill. Her funeral service will be on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at 11 A.M. at the Groveland Congregational Church, 4 King Street, Groveland, MA, followed by burial in Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill. In lieu of flowers, Nadine's family requests that you consider a donation to the National Federation of the Blind, 200 East Wells Street, Baltimore, MD 21230, as this was an organization she strongly believed in, or the charity of one's choice.
