Houlton - Mary L. Craig Russell Mary L. Craig Russell, 82, passed away Friday March 8, 2019 at a Houlton long term care facility. She was born April 23, 1936, in Houlton, the daughter of William and Lillian (Kiley) Scott.
Mary grew up in Houlton and attended Houlton schools. She Married Frederick Craig in 1952 and they would have three children. Mary loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed animals and had many pets over the years. Mary was a longtime communicant of St. Mary Of The Visitation Church.
She is survived by three children: Debra Cote and her significant other Kenny Hitchcock of Oakfield, Vicki Carll of Linneus, Frederick Craig and his wife Lori of Houlton; a stepson, David Russell of Houlton; six grandchildren: Michele, Jennifer, Larry, Heather, Trav, Sarah, ten great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. Mary also leaves behind a brother Gerald Scott of Houlton as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Frederick Craig, and her second husband, Herman Russell, a son-in-law Larry Carll, and several brothers and sisters.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Gardiner Healthcare Facility for all of the wonderful care while mom was there.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM Wednesday March 13, 2019 at St. Mary Of The Visitation Church with the Rev. Kent Ouellette celebrant. The family invites relatives and friends to a reception at the Parish Center following the service. A committal service will take place at Evergreen Cemetery at a later date. Those who wish to remember Mary in a special way may make gifts in her memory payable to the Ark Animal Sanctuary in c/o Dunn Funeral Home 11 Park St. Houlton, ME 04730.
