Lucille Rolande (Dionne) Daigle Obituary

Madawaska, Maine - Lucille Rolande (Dionne) Daigle, 102, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025, at a Madawaska assisted living facility. She was born on November 18, 1923, in Frenchville, Maine, the second of seven children born to Patrick and Agnes (Marquis) Dionne.

Lucille spent her formative years in the Frenchville community, raised in a loving and caring family. After completing her sophomore year in high school, she and a younger sibling relocated to Lewiston, Maine, to live with relatives and work at Bates Manufacturing Company in order to help support their family. She returned to Frenchville after two and a half years where she reunited with and eventually married the love of her life, Clovis.

She worked at Fraser Paper Company during the early years of her marriage until the birth of her first child, at which time she dedicated herself to being the consummate homemaker. She thrived on running a well-organized and immaculate household. Her culinary skills were cherished by family and friends and were often the envy of many. During the holidays, her divinity fudge was a much-sought-after treat.

Though profoundly devoted to her family's well-being, Lucille also maintained an active involvement in her church and community. A devout Catholic, she was a life-long member of the Ladies of St. Anne. She served on numerous committees and worked tirelessly to help raise funds for her church. She also helped organize many religious and commemorative church celebrations. She was a regular volunteer at the local Christian Life Center, assisting with meal preparations and cleaning during retreats. In addition, she served on the parish committee that organized funeral luncheons for grieving families.

Her community involvement extended even further. She was a founding and lifelong member of Post 145 American Legion Auxiliaries, a 20-year volunteer for Meals on Wheels, served 12 years as a ballot clerk, and participated in planning the 1999 Dewey School Reunion. In the early-1980s, she joined her husband in the health-care field when he became co-owner of St. Joseph Nursing Home, assisting with laundry, housekeeping, and resident activities. After retirement, she continued volunteering, helping with resident social programs.

In 2022, to the pride and joy of her family, Lucille was honored with the Maine Health Care Association's ''Remember Me" Lifetime Achievement Award, recognizing her continuous devotion and contributions to her family, church and community.

A pillar of strength and support for her children and great-grandchildren, she continued to impart wisdom, kindness and encouragement until her final days.

Lucille is survived by her son, Ronald and his wife, Linda, of Madawaska, Maine; her daughter, Mae Rita Hebert and husband, Patrick, of Fort Kent, Maine; four grandchildren, Denise (Hebert) Cloutier and husband, Dale, of Newburg, Maine, Craig Hebert and wife, Joelle Rehse, of Gray, Maine, Christina Daigle and fiancé, Tim Large, of Glenburn, Maine, Danielle Daigle and fiancé, Travis Rich, of St. David, Maine; one great-granddaughter, Emily Cloutier; and one step-great-granddaughter, Addison, St John. She is also survived by her sister, Marilyn Blanchette (Carl) of Manchester, New Hampshire; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 73 years, Clovis Daigle; and siblings, Gerard Dionne, Irma Dumais, Noella Marquis, Muriel Thibodeau, and Gedeon Dionne.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff at Ridgewood Estates for their dedication and the compassionate, exceptional care provided to "Madame Lucille" as they so affectionately called her.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025, at St Luce Church in Frenchville, Maine. Relatives and friends may greet the family Friday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service at the St Luce Church. Spring interment will be in the St. Luce Parish Cemetery.
