Monticello - Louise Peterson, 98, went home to be with her Lord & Savior, Sunday, May 26, 2019, at Madigan Estates with her family by her side. She was born May 22, 1921, in California Settlement, New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of John A. and Maria (Hamilton) Doody. She moved to Washburn, ME with her parents and siblings, Warren, Herman, Marsha, Raymond, and Edward at a young age.
Louise married Harold Peterson on July 3, 1943 and made her home in Monticello. If family or friend needed someone to sit by their sickbed or help caring for their family, Louise was always available.
Louise served as pianist for over eighty years at many Aroostook County Pentecostal churches with the last fifty as pianist at Bridgewater Full Gospel Assembly.
Louise was the receiver of the Boston Post Gold Cane in 2017 as the oldest citizen in Monticello. She was a great collector of personal and church history and pictures.
Louise is survived by by her children, Theodore Peterson Sr. and his wife Marjorie, Doris Sargent and her husband Royce all of Monticello, Janet Tucker and her husband Jeffrey of Waterford; grandchildren, Annette Williams and her husband Al Bernier, Dixie DeLong and her husband Bret, T. J Peterson Jr. and his wife Alyssa, Stephanie Dumais and her husband Michael, Jennifer Johnston and her husband David, Andrew Sargent and his wife Paulina, Kara Field and her husband Chris, and Collin Tucker. She also leaves behind great grandchildren, Erin Williams and her fiance Jason Miller, Cameron Williams, Chase Williams and his fiance Kathryn Lambert, Dustin DeLong and his wife Meg, William DeLong and his wife Erica, Emma Peterson, Mariah Peterson, Myles Peterson, Logan Faggiole, Audrina Faggiole, Brynleigh Faggiole, Jessica Dumais and her fiance Arick Brown, Jason Dumais, Dylan Johnston, Cody Johnston, Hunter Sargent, Tyler Sargent, Liam Sargent, C.J. Field, and Kylah Field; great-great grandchildren, Holden and Briar Williams and Haley DeLong, several nieces, nephews, and a very special niece Elaine Washburn.
In addition to her parents and husband Harold, she was predeceased by her eight siblings.
Friends may call 1 PM Thursday, May 30, 2019 at the Bridgewater Full Gospel Assembly, where a funeral service will be held at 2 PM with the Revs. Stephen Izzo and Steve Straubel officiating. A committal service will take place at Jewell Cemetery immediately following the service. The family invites relatives and friends to a reception in the church fellowship hall following the committal.
