Lois' early childhood was spent surrounded by nearby family and close friends of the church. She was an avid member of the church and enjoyed the singing and fellowship with friends. After Norville's passing, to be closer to family, Lois relocated to Rockridge Retirement Community of Northampton, Massachusetts. There at Rockridge, she soon had a circle of close friends who she loved and respected.
