Caribou, Maine - With a heavy heart, we announce the passing of Kelli Lyn (Thibodeau) Myrick on December 26, 2025. Born on November 26, 1971, in Warwick, Rhode Island, to Delman and Marilyn Thibodeau, Kelli moved to Caribou, Maine, in 1984.
She graduated from Caribou High School with the class of 1989. After high school, she attended University of Maine Presque Isle and Southern Maine Technical College. Kelli graduated from Casco Bay College in 1997, where she met her future husband, Matthew Myrick. Kelli and Matt married in May 1999 in New Sweden. Her daughter, Breeya, was born shortly after in October 2000. Born with a heart condition, Kelli was courageous during her pregnancy and Breeya was her miracle baby. Their little family lived in a few different towns over the years, including Caribou, Cushing, and East Syracuse, NY.
While she held many jobs over the years, her favorites were working at her parents' video rental store and as an Education Aid for schools both in the Midcoast region, and in Caribou. Kelli had a special place in her heart for kids with special needs and was so proud when she'd have a breakthrough moment with "her kids." She worked with a variety of age groups, even spending some time as a long-term substitute teacher.
Kelli's faith, and sharing that faith with her friends and family, was her true passion. She enjoyed attending conferences that focused on women's ministry and would lead simulcasts at churches when attending in person wasn't possible. She was unapologetic of her feelings of women having a stronger and more prominent role in the church. She was also an advocate against human trafficking. Kelli's faith in Jesus Christ is what allowed her the comfort to come home and spend her final months with family and friends. She was especially influenced by Matthew's grandmother, Agnes "Nanny" Young, who we stayed with on many nights when visiting the Midcoast.
Kelli also enjoyed travelling, taking trips to California, Hawai'i, New Mexico and North Dakota. Her favorite was being a Passenger Princess on our trips to Walt Disney World. Kelli was an owner at Old Key West and felt the most relaxed when sitting in a hammock, toes in the sand, and lounging at the pool. She also enjoyed spending time on Ram Island, off the coast of St. George.
Kelli was predeceased by Emma the dog; Flower the cat; and her maternal and paternal grandparents. She is survived by her husband, Matthew; her daughter, Breeya Cosette; and Sophia and Ally the cats. In addition, her parents, Delman and Marilyn of Connor TWP; sisters, Melanie Andersen of Fort Fairfield, Tina Sleeper of Caribou, and their respective spouses, Mark Andersen and Mark Sleeper; and brother, Galen Thibodeau.
In lieu of flowers, please visit the website of Kelli's favorite organization, Women at Risk International at warinternational.org and consider making a purchase. A private celebration of life will be held in the spring. Online condolences may be shared at bowersfuneral.com.
