Bancroft, Maine - Joan "Joanie" (Terzi) Staples, 84, of Bancroft, Maine, passed away peacefully at home on July 23, 2025, surrounded by her devoted husband and close friends after a long illness.

Born in Springfield, Massachusetts, Joan was a graduate of the High School of Commerce. She was a passionate and talented weaver, deeply involved in the Border Weaving Guild, where she shared her artistry and friendship with fellow members.

Joan lived a life marked by honesty, kindness, love, and touched the lives of many.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Ralph Staples, her brother and sister-in-law, three sons and their partners, two daughters and their partners, as well as many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by one son; her father, Peter Terzi; and her mother, Julia Terzi.

A celebration of Joan's life will be held at 1 p.m. on August 23, 2025, at the Baptist church on Route 171 in Wytopitlock, Maine. All who knew and loved her are welcome to attend and honor her memory. A memorial for Joan will be held at 124 Outer Drive, Chicopee, MA 01022 on August 31, 2025, from 2 to 4 p.m. Joan will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
