Bangor and Fort Fairfield, Maine - Jeffrey "JJ" Ernest Janosco passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at St. Joseph Hospital, in Bangor, Maine. He was born on May 25, 1973, in Caribou, Maine, a son of Gary M. and Vivian T. Janosco.
He graduated from Fort Fairfield High School in 1992 and spent much of his life battling against the challenges presented by Tay-Sachs disease. For the past several years, Jeffrey had been living at the Ross Manor nursing home facility in Bangor, Maine. Jeffrey was known for his positive, good-natured spirit and his infectious laugh. He enjoyed puzzles, coloring, competing at card games (especially Forty-Five), and rooting for New England sports teams.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Michael F. and Jennie S. Janosco, and Ernest Berube and Estelle C. Lallier. Jeffrey is survived by his parents; his brother, Michael F. Janosco; and his sister, Jennifer T. Byrnes.
Jeffrey's memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 21, starting at 11 a.m. at Crosman Funeral Home, 40 Main St., Lisbon Falls, ME, with a reception to follow immediately after. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Tay-Sachs & Allied Diseases Association at ntsad.org.
