Port Richey, FL. - Helen L. (Campbell) Harvey passed unexpectedly Sept. 26, 2019 in Trinity, Florida. Born January 2, 1933 in Patten Maine, she was the daughter of James and Lottie (Cairns) Campbell.
Helen graduated from Patten Academy in 1951. She later graduated from Northern Maine Vocational Institute with a degree in nursing. She was very proud of achieving the highest score in her class on her Nursing State Boards. When Helen wasn't working, she enjoyed creating gifts for others with her crocheting, knitting and embroidery work. She had a great love for reading, which she passed on to all her children, and for playing the piano. Helen's greatest passion was her family which was reflected in her genealogical work as well as her stories of life growing up in Patten and summers spent in a cabin on Mt. Chase.
Helen is survived by those she loved most, her four children; ten grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Children: Anita Baker of Stacyville, ME, Danita and her husband James of Chelmsford, MA, Robert Baker of Waltham, MA, and Renee Valz and her husband Thomas of Port Richey, FL; grandchildren: Kristin and husband Jason Derosier and Ian Morrison, Corinne, Allison and Natalie Turner, and Ryan, Caitlin, Matthew, Abigail, and Hannah Valz and her fiance Todd Brown; great-grandchildren: Lindsay and James "Jamie" Derosier.Helen is also survived by one special sister-in-law Mary Micallef Campbell.
Helen was predeceased by her parents; as well as her sister Iva Johnson; and brothers James Jr. and Charles Campbell.
There will be a graveside burial service at the Patten Cemetery on Friday October 11 at 11am and a follow-up reception at the Patten Methodist Church.
