Presque Isle - Gwendolyn Shaw McEntee, 92, passed away on April 10, 2019, at her home in Presque Isle. She was born in Westfield, Maine, on December 25, 1926, to the late Harley and Ruth (Kearney) Shaw and widow of the late D. Robert McEntee of Presque Isle.
Gwendolyn graduated from Presque Isle High School in 1945 and worked along side her husband in Bob's Radio-TV-CB Sales and Service on the Egypt Road for 21 years. She then worked at TAMC as a registered Central Service Tech for more than 10 years.
She was a member of the United Baptist Church of Westfield serving as a deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, teacher, choir director and church Treasurer for 25 years. She was a member of the Westfield, Mars Hill and Blaine Senior Citizens group. She was also part of a very special ladies group called the Domino Girls which she thoroughly enjoyed all the time, to get together and socialize.
She is survived by her sons, Robert and wife, Lorna, of Middletown, CT, and David and his wife, Debbie, of Presque Isle; her daughter, Peggy and her husband, Roger Foster, of Monson; ten grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind one sister, Patricia and her husband, Russell Lesiw, of Seymour, CT; two brothers, Robert Shaw of Washington, DC, and Marvin and his wife, Claris Shaw, of Groton, CT; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sons, Raymond, Scott and Bruce.
Friends and family may call at the United Baptist Church of Westfield on Monday, April 15, 2019, from 1 to 2 p.m., where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. with Pastor Dan Angotti officiating. Memorial gifts may be made to the repair fund of The United Baptist Church of Westfield, Westfield, ME 04787. Interment will be at Marshall Cemetery, Westfield later this spring.
