Madawaska, Maine - Gisele M. Vaillancourt, 88, passed away August 1, 2026, at a Fort Kent health care facility. She was born in Fort Kent on May 25, 1938, daughter of the late Antonio and Marie (Lozier) Lang.

She loved cooking for her family and took pride in her embroidery. She loved children and was known as the neighborhood second mom.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Roger Vaillancourt of Madawaska; four children, Diane Albert and her husband, David, of Madawaska, Glen Vaillancourt and his wife, Lucy, of Indiana, Lisa Plourde and her husband, Gary, of Fort Kent, and Donna Paradis and her husband, Tom, of New Hampshire; six granddaughters, Alivia, Stefanie, Rebecca, Crystal, Emily, and Taylor; one great-grandson, Oliver; four siblings, Pierre Lang, Ludger Lang, Bernadette Fongemie, and Lise Poitras; and many nieces and nephews. Gisele was predeceased by her six siblings, Leopold Lang, Fr. Jean Guy Lang, Leonard Lang, Therese Grondin, Rachel Ouellette, and Marie Claire Dube.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Relatives and friends may offer their condolences at the church on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. before the Mass. Interment will take place immediately following the Mass at St. Luce Cemetery.
