Madawaska, Maine - Gerald "Jerry" McAvaddy, 78, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2026, at High View Manor in Madawaska. Jerry was born October 16, 1947, in Atlantic City, New Jersey, the son of John McAvaddy and Virginia (Miller) McAvaddy.

Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was known as a kind and devoted husband, a steady presence, and a source of strength to those who loved him most. To his family, he was everything.

He is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie Brittingham; his children, Travis, Ron, Colleen, and Ginny; his brothers, Jack (Marcie) McAvaddy and Jim McAvaddy; and several beloved grandchildren. Jerry will be laid to rest at Fairmount Cemetery later this spring.
