I remember Dean especially for three things: (1) His calm, willingness to keep peace and to avoid quarrels; (2) His mechanical genius and willingness to use it to help others; and (3) His incredible work ethic. He and Katherine were always a delight to visit. I wish God's comfort for Katherine and am thankful that God has given her numerous family members to encourage her in her loss. It is interesting that my father (Katherine's brother) and mother were married 67 years as Dean and Katherine were. I am thankful for their example.
