Blaine - Carole A. Terrell, 84, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 7, 2019. She was born on April 3, 1935, in Mars Hill, the daughter of Kenneth and Leida (Garrison) York.
She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Eldon "Buster" Terrell; her three daughters; Patti Lunn and husband Wayne of Mars Hill, Sue Graham and husband Bruce of Blaine, Tracie Grew and husband Glen of Mars Hill; a brother, Rudy York and wife, Judy of Bucksport. She has 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Peggy Quimby and her husband, John.
She and Buster enjoyed many years of camping where they made many lifelong friends and memories.
She was employed as Assistant Manager by Smith's Truck Stop in Blaine for many years. Where many would know her as "The Cat". There she met and touched many lives who still remember her today.
She was a member of the United Baptist Church of Mars Hill where she was actively involved in a number of ministries with Wilderness Day Camp being her favorite.
The needs of others were more important to her than her own and she certainly had the gift of "hospitality". Her home was always open for those needing a place to stay. Missionaries often thought of her home as their home. She will be remembered as a faithful wife, loving mother and a wonderful Nana.
Our family wants to acknowledge the extraordinary care and love shown by the wonderful staff at the TAMC Skilled Care Facility in Mars Hill.
There will be no visitation. Funeral services will be conducted 1 PM Saturday May 18, 2019, at the United Baptist Church in Mars Hill with the Revs. Mitch Ross and Gerry Dill officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to a reception at the church fellowship hall immediately following the service. A private committal for the immediate family will take place at King's Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers those who wish to remember Carole in a special way may make gifts in her memory payable to Child Evangelism Fellowship in c/o Dunn Funeral Home, 11 Park St., Houlton, ME 04730.
