Chapman, Maine - Bonnie Lou Burnett, 63, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2026, at Aroostook House of Comfort, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born May 31, 1962, in Caribou, Bonnie was the 3rd youngest child of the late Thelma (Watson) and Lloyd Wardwell Sr.

Her family moved from Perham to Chapman in 1965 to where she spent the majority of her life. Bonnie graduated from Presque Isle High in 1980. Shortly afterwards, she married her high-school sweetheart, Robert Burnett. Bonnie was full of love for her family and friends. She had a softness for all the children in her life. She was a beloved school bus driver for 18 years for SAD #1, after working at Grossman's for more than 10 years as the assistant manager. Bonnie was a member of West Chapman Advent Christian Church, where she was notorious for bringing her nieces and nephews with her. Bonnie had a green thumb. Her home was brimming with beautiful plants and flowers that could be seen from the road. She also enjoyed crafting and listening to Classic Country music.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Robert Burnett of Chapman; son, Ryan Burnett and his partner, Jackie Goodwin, of Eliot; five siblings, Darlene Espling of Caribou, Peggy Lagasse and her partner, Rick Harvey, of Mapleton, Kenneth Wardwell and his wife, Kathy, of Kentucky, Lloyd Wardwell Jr. of Mapleton, and Darin Wardwell and his wife, Kim, of Alaska; sister-in-law, Becky Wardwell of Caribou; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Bonnie was predeceased by three siblings, Juanita Campagna, Sylvia Hemingway, and David Wardwell Sr. She was also predeceased by brothers-in-law, Philip Campagna, Albert Hemingway and Sheldon Espling.

Friends and family may call from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 18, 2026, at West Chapman Advent Christian Church with funeral to follow. The family wishes to thank Aroostook House of Comfort for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bonnie's memory to Aroostook House of Comfort, P.O.
