Van Buren, Maine - Barry L. Violette, 48, passed away July 30, 2026, at the Aroostook House of Comfort in Presque Isle. He was born June 21, 1978, in Caribou, the son of Lloyd and Joan (Grivois) Violette.

If you were lucky enough to know Barry, you couldn't help but love him. He never had a mean word to say about anyone. If people had a heart like Barry, the world would be a much better place. He lived life to the fullest and accomplished many things. He won so many medals in Special Olympics, joined the boy scouts, learned taekwondo, went to prom, and graduated from high school. After high school he worked at McDonald's, a job he was very proud of. One of his proudest moments was earning his 4th degree in the Knights of Columbus. He also was a lifetime member of The Sons of the American Legion. Barry loved going on vacations, especially Disney World. He also enjoyed great food, doing search-a-word puzzles, music, and playing bingo with his Mom. He will be missed and loved by all who knew him.

Barry is survived by his mother, Joan Violette of Van Buren; a sister, Carol Dube and her husband, Keith, of Van Buren; several aunts and uncles, including Nelson and Claudette Grivois of Van Buren, and Nora Danforth of Eastern, GA; several cousins; and many friends, including a special friend, Matt Rossignol. He was predeceased by his father in 2014.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. August 11, 2026, at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, St. Peter Chanel Parish with the Rev. Anthony K. Korir, SMA officiating. Relatives and friends may call 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Donations may be made in his memory to Aroostook House of Comfort, P.O. Box 867, Presque Isle, ME 04769 or to Harmony Home activity fund, 11 Abraham Court, Houlton, ME 04730. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bowers Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Presque Isle.
