Limestone, Maine - Barbara J. Johndro, 88, wife of the late Roger J. Johndro, passed away Saturday morning, December 6, 2025, at Borderview Rehabilitation and Living Center, Van Buren, following a period of declining health. She was born February 9, 1937, in Woodland, the daughter of Jerry and Carrie (Libby) Skidgel.

She attended Woodland schools and was a graduate of the Caribou High School. Barbara was married to Roger J. Johndro on February 20, 1954, and had been employed by the American Kitchens Processing Plant, Caribou, Potato Service, Caribou, and the Limestone Schools System Hot Lunch Program. She was a member of the Limestone United Methodist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star, Elizabeth Chapter and Lunar Chapter, the Limestone Senior Club, and was an active supporter of the Limestone Masonic Lodge No. 214 AF & AM, where she generously volunteered her time. Barbara greatly enjoyed crafting, especially knitting and crocheting.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Roger, on April 30, 2014; eight brothers, Edgar, Vernon, Horrace, Stanley, Thomas, Cecil, Edwin, and Melvin; and five sisters, Catherine Peters, Hazel Dixon, Thelma Ouellette, Helen Underwood, and Lillian Rossignol. She is survived by two sons, Jeffrey Johndro and his wife, Patricia, and Dwain Johndro and his wife, Sheryl, all of Limestone; one daughter, Cathy Johndro and her husband, Jim Hurley, of El Dorado, CA; five grandchildren, Tanya Armstrong of Citrus Heights, CA, Derek Giggey of Limestone, Kara Lee Hamilton and her husband, John, of Caribou, Meagan Johndro and her husband, Steve Janoski, of Windham, Kenessa Johndro of Caribou; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted in the spring at Northern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Caribou at a date and time to be announced by Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield.
