James 'Jim' Howard Taylor

James 'Jim' Howard Taylor James "Jim" Howard Taylor, 86, husband of the late Essie (Poole) Taylor, passed away on February 1, 2019 in Presque Isle. He was born on April 18, 1932 in Trenton, Michigan, the son of Esta Mae (Wilkinson) and Simpson Orville Taylor.

He is survived by brothers; Robert of Myrtle Beach, SC and John, daughters; Vicky Aucoin and her husband Michael of FL, Janet Asvack of Palm Harbor, FL, Linda Davis of Lubbock, TX and a son, Gene of Nashville, TN, grandchildren and great grandchildren who were very special to James and he loved them dearly.

James joined the Air Force in 1951 and his last few years of service were located at Loring Air Force Base in Limestone where he retired in 1971. After his service, he was an owner/operator of a trucking business for many years. His hobbies were radio controlled model airplanes and training horses. He belonged to the Disabled American Veterans Association, Aeronautical Model Association and the Airforce Sergeants Association. He was a very caring man and such a good friend to so many people. A loving husband and wonderful father. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his very special longtime friend, Ethel and her family.

In addition to his parents and his wife, James was predeceased by his daughter, Connie Delong and son, Jimmie.
His final words to sum it all up was, "whatever had to be done, I did my best, I tried."

A graveside service with military honors will be held in the spring at Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle. Online condolences may be expressed at www.duncan-graves.com.
